A note from Roxy – “The Future”

Hello fine people!

For those of you playing the home game, you know it’s been some time since you have heard from us here at Awesome: The PodCast. Punch & Pie.

6 months in fact…

That is my doing. I’ve always been honest on the show and, if you listened to the last episode back in September, you already know that I was laid off over the summer and that I was planning on moving. Well, that move out of New Jersey happened and I found work in a field that I love. Getting a job like this, though, has some sacrifices. One is that I have had to sideline a lot of projects, this show in particular. As you know, the show was 100% self funded. In the latter years, this was by design so that I could continue to provide the content that I wanted to and not be beholden to advertisers… that is not to say I didn’t try to get advertisers… I did in the beginning, but I did learn that, at the end of the day, keeping it self funded gave me the freedom to explore a lot of things. That being said, I simply cannot afford to keep the show going at this time. That is reason number one. Reason number two is that, very simply, my new job is such that I am unable to explore projects like this at this time.

So with that, officially, the podcast is on an indefinite hiatus.

This decision was not an easy one, however it was a necessary one. I was so hoping to make it to 5 years this April, but unfortunately life threw some pretty big curve balls and it was just not in the cards. In the time leading up to now though, what a ride it’s been. I am so proud of what this little show has accomplished over the past 4 1/2 years. From it’s humble beginnings in my living room, to having a residency at Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse, to eventually partnering with Demented Brewing Company, to interviewing national touring bands… it really was quite something. This little show that could is one thing that I am most proud of for sure.

Previous episodes and content will still be available on as long as I can still keep the website alive and running. I hope you will take some time to go back and listen because they represent some of the greatest times I’ve had within the past 4 1/2 years. I want to take this moment to thank everyone who has ever been involved with the show. This little dream of mine could not have happened without the immense support that I have received from you. It has been an honor and a privilege to say the least.

This is not good-bye, but merely I’ll see you soon.

Thank you all.
Roxy Freefall
